Sad situation that no one in public authority or power seems to be able to resolve.
The Dayton Police Department does the very best job it can possibly do under the difficult circumstances involved.
There are thousands of severely dysfunctional families within the city limits of Dayton, Ohio which is the root causation of crime & violence but you never hear the powers to be mention that in public statements as they need votes from these dysfunctional families to get re-elected & they prefer not to offend them in public so they won't end up like Mitt Romney.
Thousands & thousands of people left Dayton, Ohio to escape the carnage & who could blame them?
Politicians claim to have all the answers when they lay out their " best pitches to get votes " but lack the legal authority to accomplish anything productive when it comes to " Crack Down On Criminals & Crime ".
The entire outdated criminal justice system needs an overhaul including simplified which the lawyers will not want to go along with as it will reduce their income & other financial perks.
Laws need to be re-written that give our Civic Leaders more leverage in dealing with Crime & Violence in Urban Areas like Dayton, Ohio without regard to what the legal profession would prefer for the sole reason of filling their pocketbooks.
Civil Liberties in the beginning of our Nation were not meant to be a ticket to crime but that is exactly what they have become in the year 2013 as they tie the hands of our Civic Leaders, Law Enforcement & The Courts when it comes to cracking down on criminals, crime & violence.
Heavily armed drug dealers, street punks, street gangs & criminals do their business out in the open on public streets in Dayton, Ohio but Police can not stop them to search them for drugs or illegal weapons without probable cause or search warrants?

Everyone in Dayton, Ohio can not wait to call police & turn Dayton's many criminals in so they could possibly get themselves vandalized, shot or killed in retaliation.

Lawyers & lawyers alone are responsible for this type of legal nonsense which comes under the Civil Liberties Act & Laws which encourage & enable criminal activities in The Dayton, Ohio Area.

The people The City Of Dayton hire to counsel the members of dysfunctional families are often times just as dysfunctional as the people they are counseling which makes the process ineffective, costly & a total waste of time & resources.
Ironically the only venue in The Dayton. Ohio Area that has had a positive effect on Crime & Violence is the many 12 Step Recovery Program Meetings that are absolutely free & have no leaders or powers to be ( virtually unorganized ).
They are just a bunch of recovering people helping other recovering people change their thinking & their lives for the better & they do this with very little financial expenditure & no help from outside sources or our government ( What Does That Tell You About Your Government ).
Churches & other landlords allow them to meet in their facilities on a weekly basis in exchange for a small amount of rent.
Our civic leaders & religious ministers could learn a lot from them.
So could some members of the legal profession that could use a good house cleaning
( Take A Good Look At Themselves ).
Religion & churches in Dayton, Ohio are nice & mean well but they have not accomplished much in the way of taking criminals off the streets to reduce crime & violence.
Churches in Dayton, Ohio get broken into, embezzled & robbed all the time if that tells you anything about their effectiveness concerning crime & violence reduction.
A positive attitude on the part of Dayton Civic Leaders will not fix crime & violence in Dayton, Ohio.
Insanity has often been described as doing the same old things over & over again & expecting different results which basically means Dayton's Civic Leaders & The Criminal Justice System need to make some serious efforts at real change or nothing positive will ever manifest itself as a result of their dysfunctional procedures & processes which have done nothing more than help criminals along so they may continue to victimize innocent law biding tax paying citizens along with children & the elderly who have no choice.
Is this what our servicemen & women are giving up their lives for in other countries across the globe?
Unconditional freedom & liberty for criminals under the guise of Civil Liberties?
Something about that does not seem right to me.
Actually it borders on ridiculous.
There are many other countries in the world & many of them have eliminated a large percentage of crime & violence by enacting rigid non-flexible laws that make criminal activity very unpopular.
What does that say about our Criminal Justice System?

Our Criminal Justice system does provide the lawyers the personal income they are accustomed to & in that respects it works just fine.
It's just the way the lawyers & their buddies in The Bar Association wanted it to be.
